Mauritius Holidays for Over 50's - Travel

If life begins at 40, you must be at your best at 50! If you are at this very special age and looking to go on a vacationholiday, try Mauritius. If you plan your visit right, this place offers the best of comfort, luxury and convenience that we all crave for, in a vacationholiday. However, you need to book your airfare and hotel accommodations well in advance so that you are free from all the nerve wracking that come with impromptu planning and booking. Your holidayvacation should be all planned and booked for at least four months in advance. AlsoIn addition, before planning the holidayvacation, you should decide whether you are going there for relaxing or for some high time living.

If you plan to do some sports, do find out in advance whether they are suitable for you. It is best to undertake activities that are not physically stressful for you, especially if you have conditions like heart problems or joint pains. You should always consult your doctor about this. Mauritius provides peaceful hideouts too if you are looking to bask in the sun and make the most of your time by giving in to the serenity of the place. The weather is perfect for a holidayvacation all year round. It is hot and wet from December to April, and dry and agreeably cool from May to November.

Some tourists attractions that you are bound to find attractive (along with any younger people who are traveling with you) are:

Casela Bird Park:

Casela Bird Park stretches over an area of 20 acres, divided into 85 aviaries. Housed within are about 2000 birds of 150 different species. The gardens are very peaceful and rather soothing to the senses. Do not miss the Mauritian pink pigeon.

La Vanille Crocodile Park:

After the birds, see the crocodiles. These crocodiles have been especially brought in from Madagascar. Besides this major attraction, the park also boasts a small zoo, forest and splendid areas for eating and shopping.

Black River Gorges National Park:

There just isn't a limit to the wildlife you can see in Mauritius. This park is especially known for its exotic coniferous and casuarinas tree species.

Port Louis:

No visit to Mauritius can beis complete without the visit to Mauritius's capital port, Port Louis. You can see colonial French architecture here and visit the municipal theatre. If you are interested, there is also a national museum and a racecourse in the area. However it is better to book luxury Mauritius holidays in advance for getting discounts.

For people over 50, a good choice would be to rent a villa rather than take to hotels and resorts. This is because villas provide more serenity, peace and seclusion than resorts, which may be crowded, especially in the holiday season. Screaming children with families and loud party people may not be your cup of tea. There are many villas available for rent, with or without pools and/or sundecks. Look for ones that offer the most comfort for you and that are located near to the places you want to visit.
